How Does AQUAGOLD Work?
AQUAGOLD fine touch is a microchannel microinjector. This device employs hollow needles that are finer than a human hair and coated with 24 karat gold. The device delivers a customized blend of skin enhancers, including vitamins, moisturizers, and wrinkle reducers, by stamping them into the skin. Dr. Lickstein offers different formulations to permit customized treatments that address an individual’s skin care needs. This may include vitamin B12, vitamin C, peptides, hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers, and/or BOTOX®. How is AQUAGOLD Different From Microneedling?
Microneedling it a technique which takes advantage of the our body’s natural regenerative capacity in order to rejuvenate the skin. The device mechanically pierces the skin creating minor injuries that prompt the production of collagen as part of the healing response, and in doing so improves skin quality.
Aquagold is theoretically similar to microneedling in that the treatment also creates injury to the skin, but these needles are much finer, and are really used to create microchannels. Recovery After AQUAGOLD
Absolutely no downtime is needed after AQUAGOLD treatment, though some patients may notice that their treated skin is slightly red for a few hours. For optimal results, Dr. Lickstein recommends that patients:
- Refrain from washing their face or applying makeup for at least six hours
- Use gentle cleansers and immediately moisturize the skin after cleansing
- Avoid direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours, and wear SPF 30 or higher for at least two weeks
- Avoid exfoliating treatments or washes, peels, and skin medications for the first week after treatment
