The Restylane Experience: What to Expect
Preparing for Restylane
To prepare for Restylane treatment, simply come to Elle Aesthetic Arts & Plastic Surgery for your personal consultation. Here, you will be able to candidly discuss your concerns and goals, then you and your expert injector will decide which types of Restylane are right for you.
Restylane treatment often takes less than an hour. You will recline in a luxury treatment chair as your practitioner uses a fine needle to inject Restylane into the treatment area. All forms of Restylane contain the anesthetic lidocaine, and your provider will also apply a numbing cream to help enhance your comfort. We also use cold compresses and vibrating distractors to make the injectable experience comfortable.
You won’t need any downtime after your Restylane treatment session. It is normal to experience some mild swelling, tenderness, and redness at the injection site, but this will resolve very quickly.
When will I see the results of my Restylane treatment?
You will notice improvement immediately after Restylane injections, and results will only get better over the next few days.
Are there any Restylane risks or side effects?
Resytlane has been approved by the FDA to address signs of facial aging and volume loss, and is generally considered to be safe. Restylane risks and side effects are rare and often treatable, and may include:
- Redness or discomfort at the injection site
- Lumps at the injection site3
How long does Restylane last?
Over time, Restylane is metabolized by the body. Most of our patients choose to come in for a touch-up after nine months to one year.
