Juvéderm®

So many factors contribute to signs of aging: poor skin care, diminished skin volume, exposure to sun, and lifestyle can all play a role. Fortunately, our medical spa offers  a number of dermal fillers designed to restore volume and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Patients from Northern Virginia (NOVA), including Loudoun County, Ashburn, Fairfax, and surrounding communities seek Elle Aesthetic Arts & Plastic Surgery for their anti-aging treatments because our providers have earned a reputation as expert injectors who deliver marked results that still look natural.

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has been approved by the FDA to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid naturally occurs in the body, and it contributes to skin hydration and elasticity. Juvéderm is an injectable gel-based formula, which makes it ideal for filling fine lines, wrinkles, and folds. Denser gel formulas of Juvéderm can also be used to create a fuller, plumper appearance to the lips and enhance the contour of cheeks and other facial features.1

Benefits of Juvéderm

Juvéderm is manufactured by Allergan, a leader in the field of dermal fillers, and has been referred to as a “next generation” injectable filler. Part of what makes Juvéderm so effective is that, unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvéderm may be less readily absorbed by the body and it boasts a smoother texture when compared to other fillers.

Some of the many benefits of Juvéderm injectable dermal fillers include:

  • A fast treatment with no downtime
  • Long-lasting results
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and folds
  • Diminishes the appearance of nasolabial folds (“smile lines” or “parentheses”), marionette lines, and crow’s feet
  • Restores facial volume
  • Creates a more voluminous appearance to the lips
  • Enhances the contours of the cheeks, jawline, and chin

Yet another benefit of Juvéderm that makes it especially popular with our patients is that it contains the anesthetic Lidocaine, which makes the dermal filler injection experience more comfortable.

What areas can Juvéderm treat?

Juvéderm is a multi-functional dermal filler that is made in a range of densities, which makes it effective for a number of treatment goals. Some of the areas our patients request Juvéderm injections for include:

Facial Lines

There are a number of areas on the face that are particularly prone to wrinkles, folds, and creases. Juvéderm can be used to fill these areas to promote a more youthful appearance.

Lips

Many of our patients seek lips that are fuller and more voluminous. While some people are born with thin lips, others may notice that their lips thin out over time. This is due to a loss of hyaluronic acid and collagen. Juvéderm can be used for minimally invasive lip augmentation, and it can also be applied to reduce the appearance of vertical lip lines, often referred to as “smoker’s lines” or “lipstick lines.”

Cheeks, Chin, and Jawline

Over time, reduced collagen production can lead to a loss of facial volume, creating a flattened or hollow appearance to the cheeks. This loss of volume also diminishes structural support of facial tissues, causing cheeks, jowls, and other features to migrate downward. Juvéderm can be used to restore lost volume and restore support so that facial contours look plumper and more youthful.

The Juvéderm Family of Dermal Fillers

We offer a number of Juvéderm formulations, so treatment can be customized to suit each patient’s unique goals.

Juvéderm Ultra XC

Juvéderm  Ultra XC is a thinner gel formula ideal for reducing the appearance of facial fine lines and wrinkles.

Juvéderm Voluma®

Juvéderm Voluma can reduce the signs of aging caused by collagen loss by restoring facial volume in the cheeks, and chin. By enhancing the volume of our patients’ cheeks and cheekbones with Juvéderm Voluma, we can not only reduce facial sagging but also enhance overall face shape.

Juvéderm Volbella®

Juvéderm Volbella has been approved by the FDA to reduce the appearance of wrinkles at the nasolabial folds. After treatment with Juvéderm Volbella, patients notice a smoother appearance to the lines between the nose and mouth.

Juvéderm Vollure®

Juvéderm Vollure was designed specifically to enhance the volume of the lips with less downtime than a traditional lip augmentation procedure. After treatment, lips appear fuller, more pouty, and more youthful. Juvéderm Volbella can also help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the lips.

The Juvéderm Experience: What to Expect

Preparing for Juvéderm

The only thing you need to do to prepare for your Juvéderm treatment is to attend a personal consultation with one of our expert injectors. Together, you will decide which type of Juvéderm is best for you.

Juvéderm Treatment

The Juvéderm treatment is fast, and Juvéderm contains the anesthetic Lidocaine to help reduce sensitivity and enhance patient comfort. You will simply recline in a comfortable treatment chair while your practitioner injects Juvéderm into the target areas. The length of your treatment session will depend on the degree of treatment you desire.

Juvéderm Recovery and Results

No downtime is necessary after Juvéderm treatments. Common side effects some patients experience include redness, tenderness, and mild bruising at the injection site, but these will naturally resolve quickly. Patients often notice immediate results from their Juvéderm treatment.
